A small firm for researched family histories
Zichronos researches and publishes family histories. Each book is built from the original records and finished as a hardcover the family will keep.
Nosson Dubin
Nosson Dubin founded Zichronos after researching and writing The Tarko Family, a history in two volumes that began with 26 photographs of family documents and grew into letters to 29 archives in six countries. That book is shown on this site as an example, and its method is the one every commission follows.

What we do
We take on a small number of commissions each year, so each family’s research gets the time it needs. A commission is carried as one piece of work from the first conversation to the printed book, and every book is held to the same standard: every fact tied to a record, and every unknown stated plainly.
Who we work with
We work with families of every background, Jewish and not, observant and secular, with roots in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East or America. Some come to us with a box of letters and photographs, and some with only a few names. The research follows each family wherever its records are.
Begin with a conversation
